Hosting and server log files
The website runs on a server of DigitalOcean LLC (New York, USA) in a data centre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. With every request, the web server automatically stores the following data in log files:
- the IP address of the requesting device
- the date and time of the request
- the page or file requested and the amount of data transferred
- the page you came from (referrer)
- your browser and operating system (user agent)
We need this data to deliver the website, to keep it secure and to find errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The server deletes the log files automatically after 14 days.
Benjamin Pazdernik, Vienna, operates and maintains the website on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). He uses DigitalOcean as a sub-processor. As a US company, DigitalOcean is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Transfers to the USA are therefore covered by the adequacy decision of the European Commission of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR).

This website does not set any cookies.
Contact form and email
If you write to us using the contact form or by email, we process your details in order to answer your enquiry. On the form, these are your name, company, email address, telephone number and message. Name, email address and message are required.
If your enquiry concerns a contract with us, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. In all other cases, we rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The form sends your enquiry to us by email and stores an encrypted copy in the website database. We delete this copy automatically after 180 days. We keep emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and longer only where statutory retention obligations require it. We do not pass your details on to third parties.
The form is protected against spam by a small computational task that your browser solves in the background (ALTCHA). Our server checks the result itself. No data is transferred to third parties in the process, and no cookies are set.
Job applications
If you apply to us by email, we process your documents in order to decide on your application (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If no employment relationship results, we delete your documents seven months after the end of the application process. We need them for that long to be able to respond to claims under the Austrian Equal Treatment Act (Gleichbehandlungsgesetz). With your consent, we keep them longer in order to consider you for future vacancies.
Web analytics with Plausible
To find out which pages are read, we use Plausible Analytics by Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403 Tartu, Estonia. Plausible does not set cookies, stores nothing on your device and creates no user profiles.
To count visits, Plausible creates an identifier from your IP address, your user agent and a random value that changes daily. Plausible deletes the random value after 24 hours. It does not store your IP address or user agent at all. It records the page visited, the page you came from, country, region and city, as well as browser, operating system and device type. Plausible processes all data exclusively within the EU.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly audience measurement (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Benjamin Pazdernik operates the measurement on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR) and uses Plausible as a sub-processor for it.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You may object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. To do so, please write to us using the contact details above.
If you believe that we are not processing your data lawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
